Manual Overrides & Retries

When the AI fills a field incorrectly, you have several options to fix it.

Manual override​

Click any form field in the PDF and type a new value directly. The preview updates immediately.

Field-level retry​

For a specific field that was filled incorrectly:

  1. Click the field
  2. Click Retry
  3. Optionally add context: describe what was wrong (e.g., "This should be the shipping address, not the billing address")
  4. The AI re-runs the mapping for just that field

Adding context helps the AI make a better decision on the retry.

Bulk retry​

Click Retry All to re-run the AI for all empty or incorrect fields at once. This is useful when:

  • You've updated the source document extraction
  • The initial mapping had multiple issues
  • You want a fresh attempt at all unfilled fields

Tips for better mappings​

  • Better extraction = better fills — if the source data is wrong, the PDF fill will be wrong too. Fix extraction first.
  • Use specific templates — extraction templates with clear field names make PDF matching more accurate.
  • Add retry context — when retrying a field, tell the AI what's wrong. "This should be the company tax ID, not the registration number" is much more helpful than just retrying blindly.
