Charts

Generate visual charts from your Excel data using the AI toolbar.

Generating a chart

  1. Select the cells you want to visualize
  2. Click Chart in the AI toolbar
  3. Choose a chart type: Bar, Line, Pie, or Area
  4. The chart generates and appears in the Chart Panel

The Chart Panel

The Chart Panel appears on the right side of the Excel viewer. It can be:

  • Collapsed — hidden, click the chevron to expand
  • Panel — shown as a side panel alongside the spreadsheet
  • Fullscreen — expands to fill the entire view

Chart features

Each chart includes:

  • Auto-generated title with a total value summary
  • Descriptive caption (e.g., "Total: 1,234 — Category X leads at 45%")
  • Interactive tooltips — hover over data points to see exact values
  • Clickable data points — click a bar, slice, or point to highlight the source rows in the spreadsheet

Managing charts

  • Multiple charts — generate as many as you need; they stack in the Chart Panel
  • Persistent — charts are saved per Excel template and survive page refreshes
  • Collapse/expand — minimize individual charts using the chevron button
  • Type icons — each chart shows an icon indicating its type (bar, line, pie, area)
