Charts
Generate visual charts from your Excel data using the AI toolbar.
Generating a chart
- Select the cells you want to visualize
- Click Chart in the AI toolbar
- Choose a chart type: Bar, Line, Pie, or Area
- The chart generates and appears in the Chart Panel
The Chart Panel
The Chart Panel appears on the right side of the Excel viewer. It can be:
- Collapsed — hidden, click the chevron to expand
- Panel — shown as a side panel alongside the spreadsheet
- Fullscreen — expands to fill the entire view
Chart features
Each chart includes:
- Auto-generated title with a total value summary
- Descriptive caption (e.g., "Total: 1,234 — Category X leads at 45%")
- Interactive tooltips — hover over data points to see exact values
- Clickable data points — click a bar, slice, or point to highlight the source rows in the spreadsheet
Managing charts
- Multiple charts — generate as many as you need; they stack in the Chart Panel
- Persistent — charts are saved per Excel template and survive page refreshes
- Collapse/expand — minimize individual charts using the chevron button
- Type icons — each chart shows an icon indicating its type (bar, line, pie, area)
