Excel Templates
Upload an existing Excel spreadsheet (.xlsx or .xls) as a template. The AI maps extracted document data to your spreadsheet columns automatically.
How it works
- Upload your spreadsheet — the one you normally fill manually
- Process a document — extract data from a PDF, image, or other file
- AI maps the data — field names from the extraction are matched to column headers
- Review and download — check the results, make edits, and export
Uploading a template
- Click Excel Files in the left sidebar
- Click Upload or drag your
.xlsx/.xlsfile - The spreadsheet preview opens showing all sheets and columns
What makes a good Excel template?
- Clear column headers — "Invoice Number" is better than "Col A"
- Consistent format — use the same header row structure across sheets
- Empty data rows — leave the data area empty, just keep headers
- Multiple sheets — all sheets are supported, each processed independently
Using a template with extracted data
After processing a document:
- Navigate to the Excel detail view
- Click Auto-Detect Mappings
- The AI analyzes your extraction results and maps them to spreadsheet columns
- Watch as fields fill in one by one (real-time streaming)
Multi-sheet support
If your Excel file has multiple sheets, you'll see tabs at the bottom of the viewer. Each sheet can be:
- Filled independently
- Navigated using the sheet tabs
- Exported together in a single
.xlsxfile
