Uploading Documents
qomplement accepts a wide range of document formats. Upload one file or batch-process hundreds.
Supported formats
| Category | Formats |
|---|---|
.pdf — native, scanned, or mixed | |
| Word | .docx, .doc |
| Text | .txt |
| Images | .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .tiff, .bmp, .webp, .gif |
How to upload
Drag and drop
Open the Document Parser from the left sidebar. You'll see a large drop zone. Drag files directly from your computer into this area.
Click to browse
Click the upload zone to open your system file picker. Select one or more files.
Batch upload
Select multiple files at once — they will all be queued for processing. Each file is processed independently with its own progress indicator.
When you add files, qomplement silently begins uploading them to the cloud in the background. This means when you click "Start Parsing," the actual processing begins faster because the files are already uploaded.
File considerations
Scanned PDFs vs. native PDFs
- Native PDFs (created digitally) — text is extracted directly, very fast and accurate
- Scanned PDFs (photographs/scans) — OCR is used to read text from the image, slightly slower
The platform handles both automatically — you don't need to specify which type you're uploading.
Image quality
For images and scanned documents, better quality means better results:
- Resolution: 300 DPI or higher recommended
- Lighting: Even lighting, no shadows
- Orientation: Right-side up (the AI can handle some rotation, but upright is best)
- Clarity: Sharp text, not blurry
Multi-page documents
PDFs with multiple pages are processed page by page. You'll see progress for each page during extraction.
Processing limits
| User type | File limit | Page limit |
|---|---|---|
| Guest | 3 files per session | 46 pages total |
| Free account | Plan limits | Plan limits |
| Paid plans | Based on tier | Based on tier |
